The Amazing Spider-man review - No Spoiler's

May not be "Amazing" but it damn well near comes close

By Nathan Hall

BRIEF OVERVIEW:

A fun-filled ride for the whole family though at certain sections with this been a 12a and some parents taking their little children to see it some children were taken out of theatre so please be cautious. A superb filled out cast, excellent portray of Spider-man via his movements, speech and actions/ effects. The lizard has excellent CGI and this CGI upholds for most parts of the film. The third act is a bit wobbly though returns strong at the end………remember this is a Marvel film so stay during credits…

Full Review

With the release of Sony's reboot on the Spider-man franchise it only comes to stand that it is inevitably going to be compared to the previous trilogy to which had its huge up and down moments this most likely been the case with Spider-man 3, and its terrible onslaught of villain over kill.

Thougha huge fan of the Webheads antics since a small child and waiting to see this film a lot of promotional items were released maybe to an over extent people might believe but from what you've seen in the trailers and shorts, this is only a miniscule comparison to this title. Marc Webb who is best known for his work on the 500 days of summer movie takes the director's chair on this occasion and put across his term a more "realistic" Spider-Man.

Of course no person is going to be climbing walls, free falling 30 storeys and shooting webs anytime soon…..maybe ha ha. But when it comes to his take on this film the term realistic comes in the way he presents physics set in this world and use a lot more on camera spidey-shots than CGI add in's though taken they're are still a lot of these in there, but his more humane approach to the title character and its following cast is what brings a more emotional depth off the bat to this franchise from Martin SheenUncle Ben and Sally Fielda younger portrayed Aunt May.

Alongside this the main hero himself Spider-Man is portrayed by British actor Andrew Garfield, whose first lead role in a film comes over almost completely superb from his frail beginningsa naive Peter Parker and growing into the man with great power into Spider-Man who embodies all the heroic responsibilities. The comedic factor in the film has it's moments though notmanyannounced would and also how its presented via it's trailers but nether the less when those moments hit Garfield really shines to how Spider-Man is always meant to be. Furthermore when it comes to action scenes and moments of suspense and acts requiring dramatic effect, with help from the script Garfield does shinethe title character. I just hope that he's given the chance to shine further if a sequel though almost inevitable will surface.

Cast that is also included are presented by the ever wonderful and fascinating Emma Stone portraying the role of Peter's first Major love arc character Gwen Stacy and shines a lot more more than what previous occupier Bryce Dallas Howard allowed. In the film she is is not portrayeda damsel in distress quite the opposite in actual fact. She brings a good level head and excellent acting chops to portray a strong female lead which in this day of cinema is becoming ever more present which is a very good and big step forward.

Other Cast members include Rhys IfansDr. Curt Conners/ The Lizard (previously portrayed by poor Dylan Baker). The film from the beginning portrays hima surrogate father figure for Parker in some of the scenes butthe film transgresses his "evolution" takes a foot, not just in delivery physically but through his direct acting vocal skills also.

To finally finish up the cast we also have Dennis LearyCpt. Stacy Gwen's father and leader of the hunt for the vigilante knownSpider-Man. His portrayal of the character tries to show the balancing arc's of fatherhood trying to protect his family and the heavy scales of the law tipping him in many directions when it comes the films central plot. Though his performance is quiet admirable and fun to watch on the big screen.

The CGI in the film is of a top notch quality even at segments to which are heavy CG bound via the Lizard and certain scenes with Spidey's movement's but none-the-less is a top job especially the facial expressions and animations done for the lizard to which was criticized heavy for his original appearance with how people see him.

The storyline does however have it's down moments but practically every film does, some reviewers have called it a twilight-esc Spider-Man film they are completely wrong and just using the central love connection between the title character;sit's basis…….though this film has a more in-depth emotion take on love than the Twilight films have in the entirety. To continue thoughthis been a reboot we all have the "montage sequence" though compared to the original Spiderman film with Tobey Maguire, it actually shows the progression of the suits creation not just oh here it is and this suit feels like it could actually be made by a teenager wherethe previous films were too elaborate in my books looking good but elaborate.

The third act of the film is basically split into two parts and this is where the film starts to wobble a little bit in my opinion but still holds strong through its final segments.
Prepare to be amazed? Well I certainly was! This was an awesome re-boot of the movie franchise and I was very impressed. I have been a Spider-Fan for years now, and was highly anticipating Spidey's new release. Andrew Garfield does a better job than Tobey Maguire, simply because Garfield looks more like Peter does in the original comics, it was also lovely to see Gwen Stacey introduced in the beginning, like she should have been in the 'Tobey' Trilogy. Beautiful plot line, nice level of sarcastic humor, brilliant CG and stunts, awesome costume re-design, hilarious cameo by Stan Lee, simply amazing! I loved the film! Well done Marvel! <3
While the two leads deliver the goods and manage to combine a frisky sense of first love with the movie's gloomier arc, they are well-served by a terrific supporting cast.
No more than the two already made. It had been stated that there would be four movies, with the planned release dates being 2 May 2014 for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), 10 June 2016 for the third movie, and 4 May 2018 for the fourth. However, farthe latter two are concerned, this did not pan out (perhaps to unsatisfactory performance or reception of the second movie) and instead the rights/license to the pertinent movie franchise were sold to Sony Pictures who decided to pursue the third reboot of the Spider-Man cinematic franchise. Mary Jane is not the love interest (or one of them) in this film adaption of Spider-Man. Instead the love interest is Gwen Stacy. Gwen was an earlier love interest for Peter Parker, after his failed attempt at a romantic relationship with J. Jonah Jameson's secretary, Betty Brant, and before Mary Jane in the original comics. Rhys Ifans told Ain't It Cool News that the man was not Norman Osborn (Green Goblin), but is a representative from Oscorp and someone the fans are familiar with. The man was later revealed to be Gustav Friers, aka the Gentlemen, who is known to have formed the Sinister Six in the comics. Stan Lee is seen in the library at Peter's high schoolThe Lizard and Spider-Man are fighting behind him while he is oblivious to the action because he's wearing headphones with the volume turned up. In the comic books, Peter's spider powers he got from the spider bite do not include any ability to shoot webbing like in the earlier series made by Sam Raimi. Instead, Peter invented a special spider web-like adhesive and the wrist guns to fire it which are referredhis web-shooters. That is where the imagery of Spider-Man typically folding his third and middle fingers into his palms with the other fingers are extended comes from; he is pressing down on a trigger extending to the palm of his hand with a double tap which allows him to form a fist without causing an accidental firing. The reason you don't see these in most versions most of the time is that the web-shooters are completely hidden under the costume with only the nozzle being visible. Otherwise, they are fully visible when Spider-Man removes his gloves to deal with technical difficulties with them or to reload. Likewise, Spider-Man in the comics also wears a utility belt which is also completely hidden under his costume. It carries additional web cartridges for reloads, little electronic tracking devices called spider-tracers, his camera, and a special flashlight that projects a light pattern resembling his mask. This element of the character has been the norm for decades in the comics and most of its various other media adaptations. The idea of Peter being able to shoot webbing from his own body (the media referred to this abilitybeing "biological web shooters") was first developed in a draft of the first Spider-Man movie script by James Cameron; this idea was later used by Sam Raimi in his films because he felt it would make for more sense than a high school student creating a wonder adhesive, despite the fact that Peter is known for his gift of knowledge in science. This film takes the opposite track to show how Peter was a special kid long before he was bitten by the spider in being able to invent such devices. There's a short scene in this film that shows Peter discovering a secret lab at Oscorp where spider webs are being studied for some unnamed research. No. It is of its own fictional reality; e.g., separate from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (by Marvel Studios), separate from the X-Men cinema (by 20th Century Fox), separate from a number of other movie series/franchises adapted from Marvel Comics titles or based upon characters thereof.
